A plain account of what VidyaGate collects while you prepare for GATE CSE or Data Science & AI with us — your syllabus tracker, PYQ analysis, dashboard, and mentorship sessions — and what we do (and never do) with it.

Last updated: 11 July 2026

VidyaGate helps GATE CSE and Data Science & AI aspirants prepare with a syllabus tracker, PYQ analysis, a personalized dashboard, teacher recommendations, mentorship, a test series, and a community of other aspirants. This Policy explains what information that involves collecting, and how we handle it.

Using VidyaGate — creating an account, tracking your syllabus, booking a mentorship session, or anything else on the Platform — means you're agreeing to what's described here and in our Terms of Use.

Only what's neededNever soldKept only as long as it's useful

To set up your account: your name, email, and phone number, plus which track you're preparing for — CSE or Data Science & AI. This is what lets your syllabus progress and dashboard follow you across devices.

To run mentorship and the community: anything you share when booking a mentor session or posting in the community — a profile photo if you add one, your questions, and your discussion posts.

Automatically, in the background: device and browser type, rough location (from IP address), and timestamps of when you use the Platform — this is what helps us catch bugs and keep things running.

We don't currently ask for anything in the more sensitive categories — things like health information, biometric data, or government ID numbers.

Your information runs the features you're actually using:

  • The core product — your syllabus tracker, PYQ analysis, dashboard, teacher recommendations, and mentorship bookings all depend on knowing who you are and what you've completed.
  • Keeping things running and safe — spotting bugs, catching misuse or fraudulent accounts, and protecting other aspirants and mentors on the Platform.
  • Talking to you — reminders about mentorship sessions, updates on new features, or occasional offers. You can opt out of anything non-essential whenever you like.

What we don't do: sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. The only thing we share externally is fully aggregated, de-identified statistics — like which GATE topics aspirants generally struggle with most — and never anything traceable back to you.

We only share your information with:

  • People on our team or contractors who genuinely need it to run the Platform, and who are bound to keep it confidential.
  • Authorities, if we're legally required to respond to a court order or government request.
  • Whoever's necessary if we need to investigate fraud, abuse, or a security issue.

Links to mentor blogs, partner sites, or other external resources aren't under our control — their own privacy practices apply once you click through.

We keep your data for as long as you have an active account, plus whatever additional period the law requires for compliance. If you post something publicly (like a community comment) and later delete your account, we may not always be able to strip that comment from the page entirely — but we will anonymize it so it's no longer linked to you.

Your information is stored and processed on secure cloud infrastructure, including our partners like Vercel, Supabase, and Neon, whose servers may be located in multiple regions.

By accessing the Platform, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed on these secure cloud environments in accordance with standard data protection protocols.

We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember where you left off in your syllabus, and hold onto your dashboard preferences between visits. None of this is used to track you across other websites.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so is fine, but expect some friction — things like saved progress or staying logged in may stop working the way you'd expect.

You have the following rights regarding your data:

See what we have on you

Ask for a copy of the personal data tied to your account, at any time.

Fix something wrong

Tell us if anything's inaccurate or out of date and we'll correct it.

Ask us to pause

Request that we stop a specific use of your data, where applicable.

Delete everything

Close your account and have your personal data permanently removed. This can't be undone.

To use any of these, write to us (see Grievances / Contact) or use the relevant option in your account settings. We may need to verify it's really you before acting on a request.

A lot of GATE aspirants start preparing early, so this matters: if you're between 13 and 18, you'll need a parent or guardian's permission to use VidyaGate. If you're under 13, please don't sign up — we're not set up to knowingly collect data from users below that age, and we'll close any account we learn falls into that category.

We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever this Policy changes. Continuing to use VidyaGate after an update means the new version applies to you.
